When: Saturday April 28 @ 6pm-when the chili runs out

Where: United Church

What: Chili, corn bread, salad, bisquits, refreshments. To raise funds for Belizian International Project- the Rotary club is helping to build a toilet block for a school in Belize that our local club adopted, as well as buying a water filtration system or recycling bins. Need to raise $5000 as a club before their trip in November. Cost for dinner: adult $15, children 10 and under $8

 

What: EPC Grad Fundraiser

When: Active on Monday, April 30 for approx. 10 days

Where: Online

What: Silent Auction EPC Grad Class on FB. Approximately 20 items.

 

What: Hot Dog Sale @ Tiptons

When: Friday April 27, 2018 from 11am-7pm

Where: Tipton’s Independent Grocers

What: Hot Dogs are a $1 and Pop is a $1. Funds for EPC Grad Class 2018. (Grad is May 26)

 

WHAT: Food for Fines

WHEN: Month of April

WHERE: Alice B. Donahue Library

DETAILS: For the month of April, the library will be accepting Non-Perishable Food Items for the Food Bank in lieu of paying your monetary fines. For each item, receive $2 off your overdue fines to a maximum of $20.

 

What: Athabasca Pottery Spring Sale

When: Saturday May 5th, 2018 from Noon to 3pm

Where: Athabasca Seniors Centre

What: The Athabasca Pottery Club is hosting their annual Spring Sale, with items made by local Athabasca Pottery Members from Athabasca Clay. A by donation lunch will be available for the sale. Everyone welcome. Make great Mother’s Day gifts, or unique gifts for visitors to our area.

What: Susan Galloway presents The Young and the Breastless: An almost One Woman Celebration as a Cancer Survivor

When: Saturday May 5th @7:30 and Sunday May 6th @2pm

Where: Nancy Appleby Theatre, Athabasca

What: Advance tickets for $20 in Boyle at Duly Noted Custom Embroidery & Mr. V’s Field & Forest Inc. and in Athabasca at Servus Credit Union and Value Drug Mart. Tickets are $25 at the door.

 

What: Athabasca Legion Open Singles Crib Tournament

When: Sunday May 6th, 2018

Where: Athabasca Legion Lounge

What: $25 per person- includes lunch. 12 games guaranteed. 75% payout to 1st, 2nd, 3rd. Plus a 19 POT. Contact the Branch at 780-675-2173 to register. Registration is from 8:30-9:45am, with the games starting at 10am sharp.

 

What: Road to Hope 2018 Run for Hope

When: Saturday May 26th, 2018

Where: Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park, Lac La Biche, AB

What: Road to Hope is a local charity that provides transportation to people undergoing cancer treatments. Everyone is welcome to run in the Road to Hope 2018 Run for Hope. Registration is at 9am and the run starts at 10am. Participation fee of $20 for anyone over 11. Snacks will be provided.

 

WHAT: Pancake Breakfast

WHEN: 7:30 AM-10:00 AM; next breakfast on Tuesday, May 29, 2017

WHERE: Athabasca Senior’s Drop in Centre

DETAILS: On the menu: Pancakes, eggs, sausages, ham, coffee, tea and juice. Takeout meals available. $8 a plate

 

WHAT: Community Bingo

WHEN: Every 1st, 3rd and 5th Monday of each month @ 7:00 PM.

WHERE: Athabasca Seniors Drop in Centre

DETAILS: Everyone over 18 is welcome to come play Bingo. A concession will be available.

 

WHAT: Walking Group

WHEN: Mondays: 5pm-6:30pm

Tuesdays: 10am-11am

Thursdays: 12pm-1pm

WHERE: Athabasca Multiplex Fieldhouse

DETAILS: Join a member of the Aspen Primary Care Network to walk the track at the Multiplex. Completely free and for all ages.

 

WHAT: Toastmasters

WHEN: Wednesdays 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM

WHERE: 2nd Floor Turnabout Avenue Place

DETAILS: Anyone interested in joining Toastmasters feel free to stop by one of their meetings and learning more about what they do. Everyone is welcome! For more information please contact Ida at 780-675-4524.

 

WHAT: Diabetes Support Group

WHEN: First Thursday of every month 2pm-3pm

WHERE: Aspen PCN Office

DETAILS: Stop in and network with others in the community; available to people living with diabetes, relatives and caregivers of people with diabetes. Your chance to share tips, recipes and talk about any issues you might face.

An Aspen PCN nurse will be available to answer any questions.

 

WHAT: Crib Night

WHEN: Thursdays at 7pm

WHERE: Athabasca Legion Lounge

DETAILS: Everyone is welcome to join in the crib night at the Athabasca Legion. Cost is $3 per player. Evening features lots of games of crib and a 50-50 draw!

 

WHAT: Pubstumpers

WHEN: Friday’s at 7pm

WHERE: Athabasca Legion Lounge

DETAILS: Pubstumpers is Athabasca’s trivia league. Put together a team of your own or join one of the existing teams. Trivia questions, multiple choice, music trivia game. $2 per player. Door prizes and 50/50! Everyone welcome!

 

WHAT: River Ramblers Square Dancing

WHEN: Friday’s at 7pm

WHERE: Turnabout Avenue Place

DETAILS: The Athabasca River Ramblers is the local square dancing group. Everyone welcome to come try it out! Perfect night out for couples or individuals. Great exercise! Cost is $6 for drop in.

 

WHAT: Athabasca Multiplex Programming

DETAILS: There is Bubble Soccer on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and Thursdays organized Floor Hockey. Ages 6 to 15, $35 for Members and $40 for Non-members. Everyone encouraged to come try it out.
