DETAILS: Come enjoy the music of the man in black; David James and Big River’s legendary tribute to Johnny Cash. Tickets available at Athabasca Value Drug Mart or at Athabasca Multiplex.

 

WHAT: Cam Neufeld & GADJO Collective: Heartwood Folk Club Concert

WHEN: Saturday Nov 18th, 2017 @ 7:30pm

WHERE: Nancy Appleby Theatre

DETAILS: The Heartwood Folk Club is proud to present Cam Neufeld & GADJO Collective, a travelling gypsy-infused band. Single tickets $27 in advance or $31 at the door. Tickets at Athabasca Value Drug Mart or Whispering Fuels.

 

WHAT: Family Fun Night

WHEN: Tuesday November 21, 2017 from 6pm-8pm

WHERE: Athabasca Multiplex Fieldhouse

DETAILS: National Additions Awareness Week is November 19-24 and everyone is invited to bring their families to the family fun night. Volunteers are also needed so please contact organizers Bev or Debbis at 750-675-5841 for more information.

 

WHAT: Pancake Breakfast

WHEN: 7:30 AM-10:00 AM; next breakfast on Tuesday, November 28th, 2017

WHERE: Athabasca Senior’s Drop in Centre

DETAILS: On the menu: Pancakes, eggs, sausages, ham, coffee, tea and juice. Takeout meals available.

 

WHAT: Hot Dog Fundraiser

WHEN: Friday December 1st from 11am-8pm

WHERE: Buy Low Foods

DETAILS: The 230 Athabasca Cadets are hosting a Hot Dog Sale. Hot dogs for $1, Pop $1.

 

WHAT: Boyle Library Friends Society Christmas Craft Sale

WHEN: Saturday Dec. 2 from 9am to 2pm

WHERE: Boyle Community Center

DETAILS: Boyle Seniors will be doing a pancake breakfast from 9-11am
Santa will be there to greet the kids from 11-1pm. Local choir will sing from 11-12noon
Lunch will be available from 11:30-1:30. Food and Baking by Farmers Market vendors
Lots of homemade crafts. Santa’s Anonymous and Boyle Food Bank will be on site to accept donations. This event is a fundraiser for the Boyle Regional Library who believe it is the responsibility of The Boyle Library to help promote and provide positive contribution to their community.

 

WHAT: Cadets Open House

WHEN: Wednesday December 6th, 2017 from 6:30-7:30

WHERE: Colinton Community Centre.

DETAILS: The Athabasca Air Cadets celebrated 75 years in 2017. Come celebrate with them at their open house.

 

WHAT: Athabasca Community Christmas Dinner

WHEN: Thursday December 14th, 2017 4:30pm- 6:30pm (or food runs out)

WHERE: Athabasca Multiplex Fieldhouse

DETAILS: The 25th Annual Community Christmas Dinner is a free dinner open to everyone. Volunteers are needed for the day of in areas of food prep, set up, dinner service and dishes and take down. If you’re interested in volunteering please contact Volunteer Coordinator Karen Wintonyk at 780-689-0779.

 

WHAT: Community Bingo

WHEN: Every 1st, 3rd and 5th Monday of each month @ 7:00 PM.

WHERE: Athabasca Seniors Drop in Centre

DETAILS: Everyone over 18 is welcome to come play Bingo. A concession will be available.

 

WHAT: Toastmasters

WHEN: Wednesdays 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM

WHERE: 2nd Floor Turnabout Avenue Place

DETAILS: Anyone interested in joining Toastmasters feel free to stop by one of their meetings and learning more about what they do. Everyone is welcome! For more information please contact Ida at 780-675-4524.

WHEN: Thursdays at 7pm

WHERE: Athabasca Legion Lounge

DETAILS: Everyone is welcome to join in the crib night at the Athabasca Legion. Cost is $3 per player. Evening features lots of games of crib and a 50-50 draw!

 

WHAT: Pubstumpers

WHEN: Friday’s at 7pm

WHERE: Athabasca Legion Lounge

DETAILS: Pubstumpers is Athabasca’s trivia league. Put together a team of your own or join one of the existing teams. Trivia questions, multiple choice, music trivia game. Door prizes and 50/50! Everyone welcome!

 

WHAT: River Ramblers Square Dancing

WHEN: Friday’s at 7pm

WHERE: Turnabout Avenue Place

DETAILS: The Athabasca River Ramblers is the local square dancing group. Everyone welcome to come try it out! Perfect night out for couples or individuals. Great exercise! Cost is $6 for drop in.

 

WHAT: Athabasca Multiplex Programming

DETAILS: There is Bubble Soccer on Tuesdays and Wednesdays and Thursdays organized Floor Hockey. Ages 6 to 15, $35 for Members and $40 for Non-members. Everyone encouraged to come try it out.
