What: 1:30-4pm in the Fieldhouse for Archery Tag, Soccer Darts and Laser Tag.

For Family Swim from 1:30-4 at the Athabasca Landing Pool.

In the Cenovus Arena for shared ice from 7am-10:30am, public skate from 10:30am-1:30am and Shiny from 1:30pm-3pm.


What: Athabasca River Runners Snowmobile Rally

When: Saturday February 23, 2019

Where: Registration and Starts at Forfar Hall

What: Pre-registration on Friday Feb 22 7-9pm @ Forfar Hall.

Registration on Saturday Feb 23 from 9-11am @ Forfar Hall.

$10/Hand, plus $25 day pass for non ASA members.

What: Bridal Creations Showcase

When: Saturday March 2, 2019 From 2pm-5pm

What: Mobile Mammography Service

When: Feb 25-March 2

Where:  Athabasca Community Health Services.

What: A mobile mammography trailer will be stationed at the Athabasca Community Health Services. Residents can book an appointment or learn more about the program by calling 1-800-667-0604. Women ages 50-74 — the group most at risk of developing breast cancer. A mammogram is an X-ray of the breast and has proven to be the most effective way to detect breast cancer. Early detection allows for a greater number of options for treatment and a better chance of survival.


What: Rhymes that Bind

When: Starts Feb 1, every Friday from 10am-11am

Where: Athabasca Parent Link

What:  Rhymes that bind is a free program for children aged 0-5 and their parents. The program will run for ten weeks, every Friday morning, until April 12, 2019 (missing March 29). This program is a great way for moms and dads to meet other parents with young children.  Come and enjoy great children’s books, nursery rhymes, songs, and finger plays.  For more information about this program, please call 675-5650, or visit their website .


What: Snowed in Comedy Show

When: Tuesday March 5 @ 8pm

Where: Nancy Appleby Theatre

What: The Snowed in Comedy Tour is headed back to Athabasca once again, bring comedians Dan Quinn, Paul Myrehaug, Pete Zedlacher and Damonde Tschritter. Tickets are $40 each. Get them online at

When: Tuesday March 5th from 5pm-6:30pm

Where:  St. Gabriel’s Parish Hall (4907 53rd Street Athabasca)

What: Everyone is welcome to join in Shrove Tuesdays Pancake Supper. $7 for adults, $5 fro children ages 6-12 and is free for 5 and under.


WHAT: Community Bingo

WHEN: Every 1st, 3rd and 5th Monday of each month @ 7:00 PM.

WHERE: Athabasca Seniors Drop in Centre

DETAILS: Everyone over 18 is welcome to come play Bingo. A concession will be available.


WHAT: Toastmasters

WHEN: Wednesdays 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM

WHERE: 2nd Floor Turnabout Avenue Place

What: Writing Group

When: Thursday evenings from 7:30pm-9pm

Where: Large Archives room at Alice B Donahue Library, Athabasca.

What: An informal group of people from the community who want to write, meeting weekly to engage in writing practice as described in Natalie Goldberg’s book “Writing Down the Bones: Freeing the Writer Within”. Materials required include pens, coils and a copy of the book.


WHAT: Crib Night

WHEN: Thursdays at 7pm

WHERE: Athabasca Legion Lounge

DETAILS: Everyone is welcome to join in the crib night at the Athabasca Legion. Cost is $3 per player. Evening features lots of games of crib and a 50-50 draw!


WHAT: Pubstumpers

WHEN: Fridays at 7pm

WHERE: Athabasca Legion Lounge

DETAILS: Everyone is welcome to come play trivia with Pubstumpers! Music, multiple choice, general trivia and picture clues! Fun evening! Meal for purchase. Cost is $3 per player. Drink specials, door prizes and 50/50 draw.


WHAT: River Ramblers Square Dancing

WHEN: Friday’s at 7pm

WHERE: Turnabout Avenue Place

DETAILS: The Athabasca River Ramblers is the local square dancing group. Everyone welcome to come try it out! Perfect night out for couples or individuals. Great exercise! Cost is $6 for drop in.
