What: EPC Cheerleaders car wash at Hunters Motors by donation on Friday. From 10 to 3! Plus customer appreciation BBQ- by donation too! All proceeds going to our EPC Cheerleaders as they fund raise to Worlds. They are putting in a lot of hard work to fund raise for worlds!

What: Athabasca Summer Band is composed of members of the Athabasca Community Band. The band of 10 (not exactly the same as pictured above) has been rehearsing on Monday evenings for the past few weeks and look forward to sharing the results of that work with our friends on Aug. 20 and 27. Everything from tango and swing, spirituals and marches, to Latin and soul. Bring friends and family and lawn chairs if you need them. Join us for the evening or stop by to hear a couple of tunes as you stroll through the park.

What: Road to Hope Golf Classic
When: Thursday September 6th, 2018; Registration Deadline Aug 29, 2018
Where: Athabasca Golf and Country Club
What: The Road to Hope 9th Annual Golf Classic is their annual fundraiser featuring 18 holes of Texas Scramble Golf. Road to Hope is a non-profit charity providing free transportation services to individuals undergoing cancer treatments outside their home community. Breakfast at 8:30, Registration @ 9am, 10asm Tee-off. BBQ Banquet and prizes to follow. Registration deadline August 29th, 2018. Visit roadtohope.ca for details and registration form.

What: Community Registration Night and 10 Year Bash
When: Wednesday September 12, 2018 from 4pm-7pm
Where: Athabasca Regional Multiplex
What: 2018 marks the 10th Anniversary of the Athabasca Multiplex in our community! To celebrate Community Registration Night will be a 10-year bash too! You can register for tons of different activities and enjoy all that the multiplex has to offer with inflatables, bubble soccer, archery tag and laser guns. Plus, they are serving up Burgers, hot digs and pop by donation, with all proceeds going to the new Pool and Fitness Project.
If your group wants a table at Community Registration Night, contact the Multiplex- Tables cost $11. If your group wants to help run some carnival games-which will have proceeds going to the new pool, please contact the Multiplex too!
What: Walk a Mile in Her Shoes

What: Men in the community welcome to come and march to help raise awareness about violence against women. From 11am-1pm, free BBQ, plus men walking in high heels.

WHEN: Every 1st, 3rd and 5th Monday of each month @ 7:00 PM.
WHERE: Athabasca Seniors Drop in Centre
DETAILS: Everyone over 18 is welcome to come play Bingo. A concession will be available.

WHAT: Diabetes Support Group
WHEN: First Thursday of every month 2pm-3pm
WHERE: Aspen PCN Office
DETAILS: Stop in and network with others in the community; available to people living with diabetes, relatives and caregivers of people with diabetes. Your chance to share tips, recipes and talk about any issues you might face.
An Aspen PCN nurse will be available to answer any questions.

WHERE: Athabasca Legion Lounge
DETAILS: Everyone is welcome to join in the crib night at the Athabasca Legion. Cost is $3 per player. Evening features lots of games of crib and a 50-50 draw!
WHAT: River Ramblers Square Dancing
WHEN: Friday’s at 7pm
WHERE: Turnabout Avenue Place
DETAILS: The Athabasca River Ramblers is the local square dancing group. Everyone welcome to come try it out! Perfect night out for couples or individuals. Great exercise! Cost is $6 for drop in.
